Endodontist Dr. Bishop

Dr. Dan Bishop is a board-eligible endodontist. Dr. Bishop received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama in 1988. He then received his Masters in Biology/Marine Biology followed by his PhD in Biology/Embryology from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. During his graduate training he was an instructor in the department of Biology teaching Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and Pathophysiology.
In 1997 he was then awarded a three-year NIH postdoctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Dentistry in the department of Biomedical Sciences to study the effects of alcohol on the on the molecular expression of the developing nervous system and in conjunction with Scottish Rites Children’s Hospital to study the molecular changes occurring during healing in distraction osteogenesis. Dr. Bishop then served on the faculty of the department of Biomedical Sciences for two years as an Assistant Research Professor.
Dr. Bishop attended Baylor College of Dentistry as a dental student, graduating in 2005 and continuing as a graduate student in the department of Graduate Endodontics, receiving his certificate in Endodontics in 2007. Dr. Bishop has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and numerous awards for his research during his graduate training.
