Advanced Technology

3D IMAGING CBCT

Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, small volume cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease. This allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures with minimal radiation to the patient, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies (regular dental x-rays). .

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHS

Metroplex Endodontics Microsurgery carefully chooses which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Depending on the angulation, radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

SURGICAL OPERATING MICROSCOPES

The introduction of the surgical microscope has revolutionized the field of Endodontic Microsurgery. We have invested in the very best quality surgical microscopes, by Carl Zeiss, that provide unparalleled magnification and illumination for our surgical procedures.

Our success depends on us being able to see the minutest of details – you cannot treat what you cannot see. In addition, we have incorporated the latest high definition video allowing us to record our procedures with unequalled clarity and detail.

TDO SOFTWARE

We use TDO Software, as it is considered the best endodontic software to use. This technology is used to manage all patient records and information, as well as has comprehensive modules that make our office paperless. The website integration allows our patients to securely access the site to complete the medical history and consent forms online before their appointment. The software also allows our referring dentist to receive their patient’s reports and imaging through secured HIPAA compliant portal. This is a great convenience for our patients and referring dentists.

Waterlase Dentistry

Waterlase dentistry is one of the most advanced dental treatments available to Dentists today. Waterlase uses a patented technology that combines focused light energy with a stream of water for a highly precise, exceptionally gentle dental experience. Waterlase allows your dentist to perform a wide range of procedures with benefits including:

  • Less pain and faster healing time, with less trauma to teeth and gums
  • Less usage of anesthetic for most procedures
  • Treatment of more than one part of the mouth in one visit, eliminating referrals and specialist visits in many cases.
  • Making dental care a more relaxing experience for you!

The Benefits of Waterlase Dentistry

MORE COMFORTABLE

Waterlase Laser dentistry uses laser energy combined with a cool spray of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures without the heat, vibration, and pressure associated with the dental drill. With many procedures, it’s possible to use less anesthetic, or no anesthetic at all. Many patients report only feeling a cooling sensation from the water spray!

MORE CONVENIENT

With Waterlase Laser Dentistry, dental visits can often be shorter, and more can be completed in a single visit. When procedures can be done without anesthesia, you save time. When procedures can be completed faster, your Waterlase Dentist can complete more in the same scheduled visit and save you the time of running around to various specialists. Diagnosis, and treatment- in the same day!

MORE PRECISE

A Waterlase Dentist can remove decay far more precisely than the drill. This saves more of the healthy parts of your tooth and avoids micro-fracturing damage that might occur with drilling in traditional methods.

What Can Waterlase Dentistry Do?

Waterlase Dentistry may be used to treat your gums or other soft and hard tissue in your mouth to:

IMPROVE YOUR SMILE

We may suggest contouring or shaping your gums using Waterlase Dentistry to improve the appearance of your smile – safely removing excess gum tissue that may give you a “gummy” smile, or make your front teeth appear irregular in size or shape.

REMOVE ORAL GROWTHS

Quickly and safely remove growths or excess tissue in your mouth including gum tissue over an unerupted tooth, small “tags” called papilla, and growths called fibromas.

FIX A “TONGUE TIE” OR PREVENT GUM RECESSION

Connections that restrict the movement of your tongue or cause your gums to recede can be “released” with less post-operative pain. This can even assist with speech impediments resulting from tongue tie, and latching problems for babies!

TREAT CAVITIES

Waterlase Dentistry helps treat cavities without the heat, vibration, and pressure associated with a dental drill. It removes decay, reduces bacteria at cavity site, and is usually performed in less time due to the reduction or elimination of anesthetic in some cases.

TREAT PERIODONTAL DISEASE

Waterlase Dentistry removes debris and bacteria between your teeth and gums that can cause bleeding gums, gum recession, and even loss of teeth. For moderate to severe gum disease, ask your doctor about REPAIR™ minimally invasive periodontal treatment.

PEDIATRIC DENTISTY

Provide your youngest patients with gentler, kinder, faster procedures with Waterlase Dentistry. Waterlase provides a safe and easy alternative for treating cavities, with less pain, less shots, and often children only feel the cool water spray! Waterlase is a transformative tool for helping children with frenectomies and tongue-ties, making the procedure faster healing, and less traumatic for both the patient and parent.

Waterlase may also be used to perform other procedures that could benefit your oral health.
